Here is another great video by Anthony Robbins which talks about the power of compound interest on savings. I have talked a few times about saving 10% of your income each month and this video will help motivate you and also teach you the reason why it is such a great idea.

Thanks to the guys at welovewp.com for featuring my site in their gallery again. It is always nice to get featured, especially after a redesign. They have always been kind to my sites in the past and so I thought I would write a post to say thanks. If you run a Wordpress powered blog or site yourself then you should head over to their gallery and take a look. They feature some great looking websites that can really give you some good inspiration when it comes to designing a new look for your site.

I haven’t been able to do much writing lately but I did manage to find time to rebuild this site from scratch today. I hope you like the new design. Feel free to leave comments telling me what you think. I kept the design pretty minimal but I felt it suited the feel of the site and focuses the attention on the content. There are probably a couple of changes still to be made but I’m quite happy with it so far and it’s definitely an improvement on the old design. Anyway hope you like it.

“Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity.”
Charles Mingus
Every now and then we need to take time to reassess our overall objectives and to find ways to simplify our lives. The more simple and focused your thinking on a day to day basis, the better your results are going to be. No matter how smart of capable we are, if there are too many things going on in our lives then it is hard to really work at our best. It happens to us all at some stage. Whereas you were once carefree and able to focus on your tasks without distraction, you are now bogged down with a million and one things that play on your mind each day. Paying household bills, tax, insurance, seeing family and friends, working on ten projects at once, learning new things, reading, keeping up to date with work, keeping fit, shopping etc. All of these tasks sit at the back of our minds and make it hard to concentrate and focus our attention properly. The information we have to deal with on a day to day basis is often staggering and can cause you to feel stressed and hopeless. How can we possibly get all these things done with such little time in the day?

Sometimes we can work extremely hard and not see any results while other people seem to breeze through life, not putting in much effort, but getting much better results. How can this be? One of the main reasons might be that they are simply working at the right tasks while we are working hard at things that do not have a great potential for reward.

It is easy to fall into a rut and human beings by their very nature tend to find a comfort zone and stay there as long as possible. We all do it regularly and without realizing most of the time. Sometimes it makes sense to settle into an easy pattern but after a while you are likely to get that nagging feeling where you know that there are things you could be doing better. Whether you have settled in an average job, a relationship that isn’t working or financial situation you are not happy with, you can be sure that somewhere in your life you are settling in your comfort zone and not achieving what you are fully capable of. Really successful people are not afraid to take risks and try new things even when they reach the top of their game. They know that staying in a comfort zone will harm rather than benefit them in the long run.

We all find it hard to be creative all the time and sometimes, no matter what we do, ideas just don’t come freely enough. Creative block is a common problem and happens to almost everyone at some point. These 5 tips should help you increase your creativity and give you some new inspiration for your projects.
Take a break
Sometimes the best way to get new ideas is to take away the stress of your tasks and take some time off to relax. It is almost impossible to be really creative on demand and the more pressure you put on yourself to come up with new ideas the less likely it is that you will. Stop torturing yourself and take a break for a while. The world won’t end if you do and chances are you will come back to your projects refreshed and raring to go.

“I realized early on that success was tied to not giving up. Most people in this business gave up and went on to other things. If you simply didn’t give up, you would outlast the people who came in on the bus with you.” - Harrison Ford
When faced with adversity in life most people just give up before giving themselves a proper chance to succeed. Do you ever start things and then think that you have failed at them before you really give it a chance? I certainly do and I’m sure many other people are the same. Almost everyone will be faced with this dilemma at some point and the more ambitious you are the more often you will face this problem. After months and months of hard work you hope and pray that you will soon see a huge reward for all your efforts and then nothing. Where is that big pay off you have been waiting for? Nothing happens. You’re not rich yet are you? Nothing changed. Did you make it big on your first attempt? Maybe you lost money or the outcome was not what you hoped for. This is the point at which most people start to lose motivation and either give up or find a way to keep going until they figure out exactly what is going wrong. Sadly most of us will feel so frustrated and distressed by our lack of results at this point that we will give up rather than suffer the humiliation of facing these problems again.
