Thanks to the guys at welovewp.com for featuring my site in their gallery again. It is always nice to get featured, especially after a redesign. They have always been kind to my sites in the past and so I thought I would write a post to say thanks. If you run a Wordpress powered blog or site yourself then you should head over to their gallery and take a look. They feature some great looking websites that can really give you some good inspiration when it comes to designing a new look for your site.
I haven’t been able to do much writing lately but I did manage to find time to rebuild this site from scratch today. I hope you like the new design. Feel free to leave comments telling me what you think. I kept the design pretty minimal but I felt it suited the feel of the site and focuses the attention on the content. There are probably a couple of changes still to be made but I’m quite happy with it so far and it’s definitely an improvement on the old design. Anyway hope you like it.

I really love the idea of getting a paid membership site going myself but obviously there are a few obstacles to overcome like finding the right topic and being able to offer your visitors something unique and of real value that is worth paying for. If you are looking to snap up a single keyword domain then you might just be able to grab one with a .me extension. Domain names are always uncertain investments but I feel differently about the .me extension. With all the .com single keywords snapped up and with the rising value of domains I think the low price of .me domains and the potential for good ROI make them really interesting investments right now. I recently bought a great a few great .me domains straight off and there are still quite a few interesting single keywords available. I actually found a few good three and four letter domains floating around unregistered which I might well snap up in the next few days. The .me domain name is a new addition to the domain world but has already proven to be really popular and many of the good single keyword .me domains were snapped up as soon as they were made available. The dot me domain name belongs to Montenegro but most of the domain names have been snapped up by English speaking US domainers. The great thing about .me domain names is that they have a terrific brand appeal and they are very memorable. This makes them ideal for businesses that want to stand out from the crowd.

I thought I would share a useful tip that might be useful for anyone who is thinking about building more than one website. Whilst this idea is nothing radical and won’t necessarily jump you straight to the front page of Google, it is certainly an effective way to get your site noticed and ranked more quickly. Something that I have been experimenting with a lot lately, especially on any new websites I build, is the concept of linking to yourself. If you own any existing websites or have multiple small sites then this is a really useful technique that’s worth thinking about.
