There are many reasons why we should be exercising, for overall health, to live longer, to make us smarter, to bolster our immune system, but in this article I will be focusing on the amazing sense of control and self discipline that exercise can teach you. As well as the physical benefits of exercise, a proper training and nutrition program will give you more self esteem and help you learn the importance of self discipline and goal setting that is at the heart of every successful person. If you exercise regularly and take care of your body, you will have more self esteem, mental strength and a much greater respect for yourself. Most people want to be fit and healthy but very few people who join a gym or start an exercise program follow it through and see the results they desire because they give up before they have begun. Successful people persevere and keep working at things until they succeed and you should apply the same ideas to your exercise program. If you do not see results at first, start learning more about physiology and nutrition and apply what you learn to your training program.

Failure is nothing more than a tool you should use to get the feedback you need to eventually succeed.

Exercise has a remarkably positive effect on everyone, and is an amazingly powerful cure for depression. After a while you will start to feel more positive about yourself and everything around you.

It takes a great deal of mental strength and self discipline to stick to a weight lifting or exercise program but these are skills that are essential for success in all areas of your life.
