The 35.56 carat Wittelsbach diamond is the most expensive diamond ever sold at auction making a mouthwatering US$23.4 million or 16.4 million pounds Sterling. The Wittelsbach Diamond was sold at a Christie’s auction in London on the 10 December 2008 to Laurence Graff, a London-based jeweler. The Wittelsbach Diamond holds the record for the highest price ever paid for a diamond at auction.
